I have worked many years as a chef in a renowned restaurant in Crete, but at the same time I have a vast experience in helping foreigners learn my language. I am very patient so don't worry if you make some mistakes - we will fix them together!

As a teacher, I find myself functioning in the role daily with people. Whether to a Greek speaker on English or vice versa, I go to deep lengths to reach the true meaning of things and convey it to people. I've also been hosting Biblical Greek studies to people for about 4 years consecutively. So I figured I would turn passion into a joy job. Listening to the student and meeting them at their level, is key. The teaching comes first; getting paid is secondary. If I see progress in a student, and especially if I see joy in their eyes, that's having fun for me. And I can only achieve this effect if I prioritize tailoring myself around the student.

Program Routes in teaching Modern Greek as a second/foreign language - Center for the Greek Language As a tutor, I'm patient and encouraging yet strict. However, I don't let any rule I have set prevent us from having fun. I have worked as a Greek Second Language Tutor for the last six years after I quit my job as a journalist and a digital editor with magazines and newspapers. Since 2023, I have been back to journalism, yet teaching keeps making me happy. I give Greek lessons to English speakers of B1 level and above.

Certified Polyglot from Greece with Two Years of Teaching Experience Over the past two years, I taught Spanish to two students, one of whom successfully achieved a B2 certificate in Spanish. Through personalized lessons, I helped them improve their fluency and confidence in speaking. Currently, I lead a weekly French slang and everyday expressions workshop, where I guide students in understanding informal language and cultural nuances. I totally understand the difficulties someone may face when learning a new language, since I've practiced learning different languages. I understand first steps are hard to take and sometimes it might feel embarrassing, but we all learn by our mistakes so there is no reason to worry or feel anxious about it. I have also experienced myself the dreaded language learning plateau, where you seem to not be able to advance in the language. I know the secret is to just keep with your efforts and don't get disappointed.
