To students learning Japanese, one of my strengths that you may find helpful is my ability to give explanations about subtle notions of Japanese expressions, words, and grammar in English that you otherwise may not understand thoroughly. Students especially at beginner level have told me that they find this very helpful.
As for teaching English, I have experience in working as a language tutor at my university for 1 year when I was in graduate school. The job was to provide advices mainly to undergraduate students who were preparing to apply to exchange programs. My lessons are conversation-based. During each lesson we will have a conversation about random topics, i.e. something the student did during the week, social events of interest, etc. The process of trying to lingualize what the student has in his/her mind is a great practice of expressing him-/herself and also gaining confidence. We can also use news articles or other media and try to understand what is written or spoken. Practicing pronunciation or writing is also welcome.

Yuta was great! I learned a lot more in one session than weeks of using Duolingo. His strong understanding of English really helped communicate the more complex concepts of the language. I look forward to the next lesson!

Teacher Yuta has very open approach to teaching. His explanation on certain Japanese language concepts such as pronunciation and how to effectively master hiragana characters was easy to understand😊.

Thank you so much for the lesson. It was on some subtle (but I think ... very important) points in Japanese pronunciation. I didn't notice any of those until today.
