Which one is correct? Is there any better expression? Thanks. 1. I'd like to ask for one day's leave for my son tomorrow. He will be absent form the class. 2. I'd like to take one day off for my son tomorrow. He will be absent from the class.

Both are alright with the first sounding more natural. It could also be improved to, "I'd like to request one day's absence for my son tomorrow. He requires leave because..."
