Italian 🇮🇹 #moreфон2020 🌊 My sophomore year I started studying Italian as a second foreign language. I believe Italian to be one of the most beautiful and poetic languages that exist out there 🎵 I was lucky to have a native speaker as one of my teachers. But it wasn’t that fun in the beginning, because she didn’t speak English or Russian at all. She did speak French though (which wasn’t very helpful 🤷🏽‍♀️). Imagine having to answer your teacher’s questions when you don’t understand a single word 😳 A couple months later her fast speech started making sense to us. It wasn’t just me, everyone in my group noticed the difference. This experience greatly influenced the way I study and teach languages today. I’m going to talk about it more in my next post. Has anybody had a similar experience? I’m interested to hear your stories.

I chose Italian as the second language at university. It is poetic and beautiful. But I regret a bit, cause ...I can't use it anywhere, I wish I had studied Spanish....

Hey Yulya, I think we are on the same boat. My Italian teacher doesn't speak any other language than Italian either. So, I'm forced to learn Italian on my own to make the conversation comprehensible to us. You know, after a few fails in basics, when I couldn't understand that I was asked to read or conjugate or say smh in Italian I just more fell in love with the language. No one yet could make me sadder, but no one yet could lift me high above after the final success in the process. LOL
