The author introduces the key role of FIDIC and its global member associations in improving the persons' quality of life by promoting the quality, integrity and sustainability of the infrastructure industry and its projects and services provided globally from three aspects of quality, integrity and sustainability.
First of all, the author emphasizes that improving quality requires the joint efforts of all stakeholders, and then introduces FIDIC's advocacy of quality, which is defined as skills, experience, innovation, honesty, sustainability and best business practices. At the same time, the FIDIC Best Practices Committee BPC formulates and recommends the best implementation mechanism. In addition, they also monitor key areas of the industry and provide relevant information in areas such as quality foundation selection and quality management selection. Secondly, FIDIC formulates policies to help pursue quality commitment.
Secondly, the author shows the importance of the system method of managing integrity, thus introducing that FIDIC advocates integrity, and the CEO is required to practice it. Meanwhile, IMC, the Integrity Management Committee of FIDIC, and other international organizations jointly formulate relevant standards to ensure the unification of industry standards.
What's more, the author discusses the importance of sustainable infrastructure to the quality of life, and introduces that SDC of FIDIC Sustainable Development Committee shares best practices and experiences by establishing a knowledge base of project achievements and technological progress related to sustainable development. In addition, FIDIC has introduced relevant practice guides and information documents.
