Written Exercise 49 – The Process Of Making Deep Fried Glutinous Rice Balls. It
is complicated and time-consuming to make traditional spring festival food, such
as deep fried glutinous rice balls. Needless to say, it is difficult to make it
for new generations of young people. Nowadays, there are not many families to
make it before the Spring Festival. I assisted my family to make them this year.
Today, I would like to share and show you some steps to making deep fried
glutinous rice balls. Ingredients: rice popcorn, sugar, water, flour, 1. Melt
sugar into water 2. Mix the sugar water and rice popcorn 3. Take a part of the
mixture, make and enclasp it into a ball shape.(Picture 1) 4. Mix the sugar
water and flour.(Picture 2) 5. Starch the rice popcorn ball into a mixture of
sugar water and flour. (Picture 2) 6. Starch the mixture into flour, make and
enclasp it into a ball shape again. (Picture 3 and 4) 7. Fry it to become
golden. (Picture 5 and 6)
I will look at this later, walking now. 'Starch' is not the correct word. I assume it comes from a translation. What is the Chinese word? What other translations are there?
