I think that there are no words for me to express how I feel about this situation - hopes and dreams, all vanished! I was so excited because I was finally embarking on my first international experience. This time I was taking a 6 month period in Canada... as of February we were receiving some news about this new virus and we were not aware of what was about to come. Afterwards, the only thing we received was a letter that literally expressed that our trip was in doubt. I remember it was March, 16th and the school closed immediately... they told us this was just going to be a security measure that was recommended by the OMS, but I could tell this was something serious. Images coming from Italy, China, and Iran were overwhelming the media. Finally my trip was cancelled. Depression was my first symptom. I accepted that raw reality and faced it with bravery. Now I’m learning the language as If I was in Canada even though I’m not... my new goal is to get my C2 certification next year (I’m optimistic, indeed.)
