(2) When they were at your home, you suggested to them that they eat something that was easy to cook (which sounds a bit odd - it’s like you haven’t prepared anything so they have to decide what to eat!). I think you mean (1), and you could make this clearer by saying “I invited all of them OVER to eat something easy to cook.” (or “... to eat something simple”).
