My favorite toy when I was a child My favorite toy was actually a collection of toys, it was a collection of Barbie dolls. The body shapes of those types of plastic dolls are similar to adults. They are tall and thin, with big blue eyes and golden curly hair. Besides, they had flexible joints so that I could position them how I liked. (I have put this setence in the past because you don't do this now) When I was quite little, I admired girls who owned this sort of doll. But they were expensive so my mum only bought one for me as a prize, when I performed well in nursery and kindergarten. Because I was the only child in my family, I treated those dolls as my siblings. I was very keen on dressing them up. I spent a lot of time selecting the most beautiful skirt for them, putting them on and brushing their hair. I even had a specific drawer to collect their various ball gowns, high heels and matching accessories. Sometimes, I made skirts for them out of simple materials like residual rags, napkins, plastic bags and so on. Because I was too young to be allowed to use a needle and thread, I usually glued them together. When I was a bit older, I dreamed of building a castle for them. Every evening, when I lay on my bed, I was excitedly imagining the interior of the castle, like the fancy decoration of the bedrooms and living rooms. I was even imagining the scenes of them being alive when I was sleeping and fairies could play with them and help them build castles. Playing with lovely dolls lit up my childhood. But after I went to middle school, my mom sent (or maybe 'gave') them to my little cousin. I never saw those dolls after that.
