Hi, Im from Indonesia. In my opinion, there's no such thing as an Indonesian culture cus there are at least 300 ethnic with their own distinctive cultural object. I'm going to tell you something about Indonesia. Indonesian loves to eat spicy foods. We have our own sauce which called sambal. If you're visiting my country, you will find sambal in every restaurants. Sambal is made from a mixture of chilli, onion, little bit of salt, tomato, and sometimes we put "terasi" to enrich the flavour. Terasi is made from shrimp but the smell is very strong even some Indonesian can't resist it. We make sambal in traditional way by mashing the ingredients or nowadays we are using a blender. Another thing about Indonesian is we love rice. Eating is not complete without rice. It's like the most Asian countries who love rice. We eat rice thrice a day. I think that's normally what we do but some people might not eat rice too. In my case, my mom would definitely be angry if i don't eat rice in a day. Although if we had eaten bread or other carbohydrate sources, we still have to eat rice. I love red rice more because it's more healthier than white rice. It's really good for weight loss because of the low calories. Hey, i put the sambal picture here. If you're visiting Indonesia please try sambal and enjoy the painful pleasure of spicy foods.
