🇷🇺Russian and 🇺🇦Ukrainianian languages are similar? Hi! I'm Alona and today I'd like to speak about the difference between Russian and Ukrainian languages,by the way, both are my native languages.😊 A lot of people ask me how similar Russian and Ukrainian languages,so I think is common questions and would like to explain it. By the way,I can speak both of them fluently. Well, today I'll show you the similarities and differences in both languages: Russian and Ukrainian. In fact, in some aspects, Ukrainian is more similar to Slovak or Polish (from the West group) than to Russian language. By the way, Ukraine and Russia were connected geographically "like one country" for centuries but languages are different! Ukrainian and Russian vocabulary Well, Ukrainian language is close to Belarusian,Polish and Czech,Slovak and in this time Russian is close to Bulgarian. 38% of Ukrainian vocabulary is different from Russian. For example, the word "mother" In Ukrainian:Мати— in Russian:мать "skyscraper" In Ukrainian: хмарочос–in Russian: небоскреб "grain" In Ukrainian: зерно— in Russian: зерно Ukrainian and Russian alphabets Both Russian and Ukrainian languages use the Cyrillic script.
