Hey! Recently I mentioned I'd taken a test to find out the number of words I had in my vocab :) It was a very good experience as now I understand that I have to expand my knowledge in "deeper" areas if I can put it this way. So, for example, I can learn some vocab related to science, animals, law etc. Although I'd love to do it, I totally understand that in daily conversations most of those words aren't relevant. But I'll do my best in order to work on my vocab, simultaneously practicing my speaking skills (to be more precise, real-life English, if that makes sense) Now, my question for you is: what is the approximate number of words you know in English? Even if you're a native speaker, that'd be great for me to know, so let me know in the comments :D Have a nice day!😊

Your learning sounds exciting Anastasia! My English proficiency is at a C2 level. I hold a Master's Degree. I attended two Canadian universities wherein I was educated in the English language. So, my word wealth is somewhat higher than normal. I guess that I'm not normal. 🤣 I do love deconstructing literature. I majored in drama when I was a younger man. My undergraduate degree is psychology and, as such, I am still analytical. But, in a very fun way, not a snobby way. Have a great day and thanks!

Hi Anastasia! There are about 40,000 words stored in my hippocampus. All of the aforementioned words have been accumulated from education and life experience. I probably use about 5,000 of those words in daily conversations and interactions. My English proficiency is advanced but, most of the time, we simply talk in everyday language. Have a great day!
