"Ver" is what we naturally do, you just need good eyes to "ver" and "mirar" is what you do when you focus your attencion on something. I understand the confusion in this case, with that definition i would also think that "mirar" is more correct in these sentences. But this is a kind of exception, since we don't really do much effort to see the movie, that's why the definition of "mirar" don't apply in this case, but whatever is the case in other situacion, you should always go for the definition. So, to make this simple, when it comes to see something in a screen, could be a movie in the cinema, or a post on Instagram, whatever it is, if you have to look at a screen to see it, you should always use "ver", that's the exception.
