Hi, not sure about Spanish but I'm currently using an app called Drops. I'm learning European Portuguese and found that most apps were mixing both which I didn't want. The free version gives you 10 minutes per day; I ended up going for the full version as I needed more access.

I have used Babbel and Rosetta Stone. For some people Apps may not be the solution, as they are too rigid. It may also depend on what type of learner you are. You may be the type that needs a teacher for feed back.

Ben, I have had a good experience using Lingq. Prior to that I tried Memrise, Duolingo, and Buusu. I believe the best was Lingq. It follows the methods of Stephen Krashen. Good Luck.
