我在英国和中国教过许多中国的学生，因此，我总结了一些中国学生学习英语过程中最常见的问题，具体如下:

1.什么时候说 ‘I know’

‘我懂了/ 我了解了/ 我知道了’ 不是 ‘I know’。 ‘I know’ 表示你早知道了对方现在和你说的。当对方告诉你新的消息的时候，如果你这么回答，他可能会觉得你有点不礼貌。怎么办？想要表达“我懂了/ 我了解了/ 我知道了”就可以说：

‘I see’.
‘I’m with you’.
‘I understand’.
‘I get it’.
‘I’ve got you’.

2. ‘Almost’ 怎么用

‘大部分’／'大多数' 并不是‘almost’。其实，‘almost’ 就是 ‘几乎’ / ‘差点儿’ /'差不多'的意思。 ‘大部分’／'大多数' 用英文就要说 '几乎'+'所有的'。例如，怎么说 ’学校里大多数的英语学生都学得很好‘？可以说：

’Almost all of the English students at the school study English very well.’

看看这些例子：

‘I’ve already spent almost all of my money!’
‘Almost all of my friends are on holiday this week.’
‘I study English almost all the time.’

3. ‘There is/are’ 这里“有”

‘有’ 直译是 ‘have’，可是有些时候不能直译，比如说：‘这里有很多汽车’。这句话翻译成英语并不能说 ‘here have a lot of cars.’ 从英文的角度看来，这个结构是错的。我们需要这么说：

‘There are a lot of cars here.’

更多的例子：

‘There is too much water in that pan!’
‘There are not enough people in this office.’
'There are seven days in a week'.

4. ‘Must’要不要加to

‘Must’ 不需要加上 ‘to’。我们不可以说 ‘I must to work hard’. 可以说：’I must work hard / I have to work hard / I need to work hard.’

5. ‘Off work’

'下班' 不是 ‘off work’。平时，‘off’ 不是一个动词。所以，我们要在前面加一个合适的动词就！比如：

‘What time do you get off work?’ (你几点下班啊？).
‘I’m off work today, I don’t feel well! （今天请假了，有点儿不舒服！).
‘I usually finish work at 5 p.m.’ (我平常下午五点下班).

6. ‘ing’的用法

‘ing’ - 很多学生随便使用 ‘ing’。其实，我们不可以说：’Sometimes I going to KTV.’ 想要说正在发生的事情吗？那就可以用 ‘动词+ing’：

‘I’m finishing my dinner, I’ll call you back later’. (正在发生的)
‘I’m reading a really good book at the moment, I’ll lend it to you when I’m finished’. (不一定是正在发生的，可能是在这段时间周围发生的)
‘I’m seeing my best friend this weekend’. (这里不是说未来的事吗？是的！那为什么用 ‘ing’ 呢？因为这是未来安排。在这里 ‘ing’ 代表已经安排好的时间)
‘I like swimming / reading / going out / eating at restaurants. (这是个洞名词。我们想把个动词做名词的功能，就可以加 ‘ing’)

7. ‘It takes’

’要多少时间‘。这句话怎么说？：’我开车去上班要一个小时多‘ 并不可以说 ‘I use an hour to drive to work.’ 这样一听就是不地道的说法。

要这么说：‘It takes an hour to drive to work.’

还有：

‘Why does it take so long to start this car?’
‘This is taking too long! I’m going home!’
‘How long does it take to walk to the city centre?’

8. ‘Bored / boring’

‘我很无聊’ - 要注意 ‘bored’ 和 ‘boring’ 的区别。意思很不同的！

‘I’m really bored today’. (我今天很无聊)
This film is so boring! (这个电影太无聊了！)

9. ‘Let’ vs ‘make’

‘让’ 或者 ‘让’？- 用英语的时候，我们要分别 ‘let’ 和 ‘make’。即便这两个词都可以翻译成 ‘让’，但是 ’let’ 很像 ‘许可’ 的意思，而 ‘make’ 有点 ’强迫‘ 的感觉。

‘My parents always made me clean the garage. I hated it! (本来不想做的事，可是必须做的).
‘My boss doesn’t make me stay late on Fridays, but I know she would prefer it if I did.’ (老板不强迫你做这件事).
‘My friend let me keep his old iPhone. What a nice guy!’ （朋友允许你做本来想做的事情).
‘Why won’t you let me do that for you? I’m much better at it than you!’ （朋友不许可你做你想要做的).

10. ‘Listen’

可以单独说 ‘listen’。就是 ‘听’ 的意思。但是如果 ‘听’ 有个宾语，那么必须加 ‘to’。不可以说 ‘I like listening music.’

怎么说的对？

‘I just love listening to music. It makes me feel alive.’
‘You’re not even listening to me, are you?’
‘Shhh! Listen to that! Did you hear it?’
‘Listen. We need to talk.’

11. ‘In’ vs ‘later’

’一分钟／一星期／一年（等等）以后‘ - 这个也要注意。我们说的时间比目前晚一个小时，就要说 'in an hour'。举个例子：

‘I’ll see you in an hour.’
‘I’m starting my new job in a few days. I’m really excited!’
‘In a couple of years I’ll have enough money to buy that car.’

尴尬的说法：’I will see you one hour later.’ 人们一般不这么说。

我们说的时间比另外一段时间晚一个小时，那可以用 ‘(一段时间) + later’。比如：

‘I lost touch with him when I was young. Many years later, we met each other while we were on holiday!’

‘I worked for a famous shoe company for a while. Later, I was a manager in a large factory.’

‘I have to work late. Can we meet an hour later (than we planned?)’

或者，‘晚点’ 的意思：

‘I’m tired, I’ll do this later.’
‘Let’s meet up later’.
‘See you later!’.

12. ‘Change another one’

change是改变对象本身，而并不是交换或者，换一个。‘换一个’ 不是 ‘change another one.’ 看看吧：

‘Change this one.’ - ‘改变这个。’
‘Change another one.’ - ‘改变另外一个。’

当你要换一样东西的时候，应该这样说

‘I want to exchange this computer for a different one. It’s not working!’ ‘这台电脑坏了，我想换一台！’
