One of the distinctive elements of my culture is “mate”. It is a drink made with “yerba mate” and water. These are the steps to prepare it: to heat the water but it should not boil; to put the “yerba” in the container (“mate”, with its sorbet, we call it “ bombilla “); to put the water slowly on one side of the “yerba “, in this way you avoid that the water soaks all the “yerba “ and thus the drink stays tastier for longer. Some people prefer it just bitter, others with sugar or honey. It is possible to add more flavors such as: orange, lemon, coffee. It is a drink to share and it accompanies important moments in the lives of many people. The pandemic changed the habit of sharing for obvious reasons so, now, each person has their own “mate “ in a meeting or conversation .
