Because the subject before and after “but” is the same, you don’t need to repeat it nor do you need a comma. Here are some examples: I like to cook but don’t like to fry. I like to bake desserts, but my husband doesn’t like sweets. Hope you get back to in person teaching but make the best of online classes!
