I heart that foreigners think Russian people are direct. We usually say what we think and insist on smth which is better for you as we guess. For instance, during dinner a host can add some more food to guests even if they don't want. It's our hospitality.

I heard that foreigners thought Russian people were straightforward. We usually say what we think and insist on smth which is better for you as we believe. For instance, during dinner a host can add some more food to guests even when they don't really want it. It's our hospitality.
Just having some minor corrections. My Vietnamese culture is similar. When we have meals together, we will put more food on guests’ plate not because we know they need some more, but we do because we believe that it helps our guests have “a home away from home”
