Time go, traditions change. I remember my childhood, when I sang Christmas Carol and got some gifts. And It always snowed at that time, unfortunately  now I can only dream about it. Today I read an interesting fact.  The tradition of celebrating the New Year on January 1 was brought to the Ukrainian territories by Peter I in 1700, borrowing it from the countries of Western Europe. In addition, he introduced the tradition of decorating Christmas trees, actively introducing holiday greetings, fireworks, Christmas fun costumes with masks.
