Italki has been wonderful! I first discovered it two years ago as a student, and have taken German, Czech, French, Arabic, and Italian lessons on the platform. (You can tell I love languages. 😂❤️) I’ve since become a teacher on italki, teaching English, as a community tutor. I so enjoy teaching, and I love working with my students! 🙏 Please feel free to get in touch with me about lessons! #italkiAnniversary

Italki turned 15, and is now old enough to date R. Kelly.

Happy 15th birthday iTalki. I remember back in the day studying languages was something you did in the classroom. Studying languages meant going to the library. But then sites like iTalki came along and changed the way we learn languages. Eventually, I came to the realization that learning through online language exchanges and free internet resources wasn’t the most effective way. In searching for other ways I discovered 1 on 1 learning online. I still remember the $ signs in the search results. I had never been very open to paying before then. I always thought I could learn a language online for free. The first language I ever learned online was Thai. I remember how nervous I was. I continued with this teacher for 2 years. It wouldn’t be until years later after I had grown a little tired of the platforms I was using that I would discover iTalki Even more surprised that I had already created an account. I forgot that I had come across iTalki years before. I remember the excitement of finding so many new teachers to pick from. I was like a kid in a candy store. There was a teacher to fit everyone's needs and budget. All being said, over the years I have had some funny experiences learning online. Some of them weren’t so funny at the moment but now I can laugh at them. Check out one post My top 5 Awkward and Funny Moments learning languages online ( https://www.italki.com/post/9qisRMJQ2x9WZwvcf5M1vV) for a good laugh. Still thinking of trying to learn a language online? After years as a student, I recently decided to become an English tutor. I meet many students who are new to learning online, many of whom are trying for the first time. I see how nervous some of them are. It’s normal. But there is nothing to be afraid of. I bet you won’t be able to take just one class. If you are looking for some conversational classes please consider visiting my profile. Happy learning.

I’ve been hooked on Italki for about a 7 months now. I’ve spent countless hours scrolling down the Italki app, choosing my teachers and having lessons via Skype. During this time, I’ve also learned a few tips and tricks to find the most value-for-money tutors on Italki. Personally, I’ve been using Italki to learn English . Apart from improving my fluency in English , Italki has allowed me to connect with people from across the world. I often tell my Italki teachers that for me, Italki is a form of traveling the world without leaving the comforts of home. Italki is a great place to learn and meet new people.
