Camila, welcome to italki. You’ll find that most people here are actually very friendly.

With so many different cultures on line, I understand why it’s important to exercise a healthy measure of caution, but I’d just like to point out to people who aren’t familiar with Latin America, that Camila appears to be an average young lady with a profile photo in the typical style.

My advice to any new members interested in meeting good language exchange partners would be to: 

1. put as much information on their profiles as possible in the “about me” section, to participate actively in the community (for example, 

2. correct notebook entries in their language)

3. read italki discussions frequently.
