Dear Japanese people,

Can you tell me more about Sakura festival? How do you celebrate it?

Hi, I think you are talking about Hanami (cherry blossom viewing/party).

If so, it's not a festival per se, but more like individual parties or picnic held at streets or parks lined with cherry trees.

Usually we bring our blankets to sit on, food, drinks (alcohols) and maybe some games etc, and have a party under the cherry trees.

It could be enjoyed in the day or even at night with some light-up.

It's nothing spectacular but something special to a lot of Japanese, partly because it can be enjoyed only for a short period of time (1 week or so)

Hope it helps!
