What do you think about astrological signs ? Does it reflects exactly the character of the people ? Why people believe in superstition ?

I do not put much stock into astrology. Astrology is purposefully vague, so of course you will find things that may or may not apply to you. Astrology helps people feel in control in a world where you have no real control... that is, in my opinion, why it is so attractive to many.

Hi.  I think there is often a correlation between descriptions I read of my birth sign personality and traits and my actual personality and traits but I don't really understand why or how in reality people can be grouped by the date of the year they were born in.  I'm a cancerian and seem to have the 'typical' cancerian traits.

Hi Lelya,

Astrological signs, have at least 12 fixed characters in the zodiac, with the permutation of 12 antecedents, which make up in total: 144. I've learned that the astrology used in magazines, tabloids etc. today is called sun sign astrology. Gradually over time the more explanatory Horoscopic astrology, that utilized the positions of the 'heavenly' bodies, which were then attributed to the signs as to foretell its fortune, are gradually disappearing from tabloids, magazines, even books. It is truly right that horoscopes are positioned in the entertainment section, but there is a great deal of substituted psychology to obscure the ridiculousness.

It is nice to identify ourselves with the good aspects of our signs, but it all seem fixed and the bad sides aren't really changeable.

Some things we're born with doesn't guarantee that our philosophies and walks of life will ever be, but I can admit that the strength of believes do exert some influence over it. Mentally, believes can never truly be neutral, because that's not the premise of any believe, it's either positive: hoping for good prospects, or negative: bad and unfortunate prospects.

Superstition is a generic and natural tendency, it is born out of short seeing the causality, the reasons people believe in them, is that it appeases when it's believed, while dealing with incomprehensible phenomena.

I agree with Riley Gray about the reason why people believe in superstition.

Anyway, it's disquieting, too many people believe in this theory that's been refuted 400 years ago. It's based on the geogentric model, come on, people!
