Trouble in " a sense of individual agency" What does  " a sense of individual agency" mean? I have had to read a book of political matters and democracy. It talks about how people actually live in a real democracy and it refers to "a sense of individual competence, mastery and agency".  I look up "agency" on dictionary but its meaning is not suitable with this case. So I think that "agency" has another meaning. Pls help me to get right understanding of " sense of individual agency". Many thanks
