English speaker trying to learn Russian
Hi - I am at the very start of learning Russian, and cannot read or write yet. I can only say some basic phrases. I am an expert in English, though. Let me know if you think we may be able to help each other.

Hi, I am really interested in comparison of basic pronunciation differences. I am an English University teacher, well but this summer I`ve met my American cousin and I realised that I have to imagine the spelling of some words to understand her, the "r" sound was OK but sound short "o" like in word "pot" you know they pronounce "a" in some words. It was a bit hard. What about you as a native speaker? Do you feel the same difficulties with Americans?
As for Russian I could try to help now I have holidays.
