What does "schon" mean?

So I came across the word "schon" but when I try and translate it with Google tanslate it tells it "do you mean schön"

Which I don't. I pasted the sentence and it translated it...but what does the actual word "schon" mean? In what context do you use it?

Sarah is right, but it is always good to have some context, because the word "schon" can be used with different meanings.

In general it means "already":

Ich habe die Hausaufgaben schon gemacht. I finished the homework already.

Kannst du morgen schon um 8 Uhr kommen? Can you come at 8 am already tomorrow?

But it can also be used to emphasize something (often used when you are upset.):

Du musst mir schon zuhören! You should listen to me.

Wenn es sein muss, kann ich das schon machen. I can do it, if I have too.

Schon gut. Nevermind.

Komm schon! Come on.

In this case it is near to impossible to translate "schon". Yeah, google translate is wrong to translate it with "beautiful". That's why google translate can help you, but you can not 100 % rely on it.

I'm not German but I speak German an I can tell you what "schon" means.

Schon means "already".

Schön means "beautiful" or "nice".

Does it sound right for you?

Maybe there is a German-native speaker who can confirm what I'm saying :)
