I read it from time to time.
The writing style is superb. It is good, literate, educated English. Of course the grammar is correct, and words and phrases are well chosen. But it is also very well written. It is not colloquial or slangy, but it is relaxed, informal, and communicates well. It uses a wide vocabulary, but it does not use vocabulary just to impress. It is good, clear, expository prose.
It is a very good model to follow.

Yes, I agree, it is quite liberal, but I like its langugae and its wittiness.

They're a bit too liberal to my liking if you know what I mean. But generally, it is widespread and very much liked by upper-class audience.
