I want to know how do you practice languages with your tutors or partners on skype?
Do you have a technique o method in special?
I want to try differents ways to learn to I don´t be bored.
I have several techniques I like to use with language partners.
With some of my Spanish language partners I like to use http://www.gocomics.com/explore/espanol and http://www.gocomics.com/explore/comics. These have many of the same comics with both Spanish and English translations. The nice thing about comics is that they are written the way people actually speak, including contractions and slang. We start by working on English pronunciation of the English comic, with either me reading first as a model and them repeating it, or them reading it first and me giving suggestions or corrections. Then we go back through the English version and they help me translate it into Spanish. Then we go look at the Spanish version to see how our translation is different from the professional translation. (All of my partners are more advanced in English than I am in Spanish, the technique would probably be reversed if my Spanish was better than their English.)
We use the same technique with sites of articles. I particularly like using breakingnewsenglish.com.
I also like using the site https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/beta/. We look at pictures and exhibits together and ask each other questions about what we are seeing.
I particularly like using videos related to the countries my partners come from. Sometimes I look for Youtube videos with a lot of scenery. Those can work well without the sound. We just pause and talk about what we are seeing. There are also sites, www.watchtogether.com and rabb.it, that can be used to watch videos together so that the sound syncs nicely.
You raised a good question and I love to join this topic to catch some ideas from others too ^^
Susan's technique seems to be good so far.
