Is there any book you can recommend to improve English writing? I am interested in improving my English writing competence. Is there anybook you can recommend that is good for learning wrirting? I've heard that "Elements of Style" is a classic writing textbook. Is it really worthwhile reading? Thank you.

Strunk is great, but I prefer the two above. Trying to "read" Strunk & White will bore you.  

A Writer's Reference has an easy layout to quickly find the answer, and a great index. It has several sample letters too. 

Essential English Grammar is a concise simple book. And it's cheap.
