I'm not sure, maybe the history, the food, the scientific innovation, or maybe the literature?

Don't say "the kitchen," say "the cuisine." "The kitchen" sounds very odd and many native speakers would not even understand it. The word for "a national style of preparing food" is "cuisine," pronounced "quiz-een." Ironically, of course, "cuisine" is a loan word from French and in French it means "kitchen."

People my age, who remember the days of the cold war and Nikita Khrushchev, might even wonder if you were somehow talking about the famous "kitchen debate" between Khrushchev and U.S. Vice President Richard M. Nixon, at an exhibition in Russia that featured a modern U.S. kitchen.
