Start by reading simple texts; don't be embarrassed to read books for young children - they're often written in a simplified form of grammar, which is easier when you are a beginner.
Listen to English language broadcasts on the radio, or excerpts from online sources. News bulletins are often presented in clear speech. Try the BBC World Service or NBC. There are a range of recorded 'podcasts' online* which you can listen to for practice in the sounds of the spoken language. * e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02pc9xz/episodes/downloads http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/worldserviceradio?page=2#pc-results-area
You will not understand what is said, but it will show you how sounds are pronounced in English [in this case British]
Record yourself speaking using Vocaroo, or a similar app. Send it to me if you would like comments or correction.
