Talking about known ethnic roots, places which our parents were from, etc., etc.

In my case.. I had a dutch grandmother from the part of maternal family.

And two generations of paternal family living in Uruguay (my spanish grandparents moved there.. and my father and uncles were born and raised there. However, there isn't any drop of uruguayan blood running through my veins, actually xd. Only in my cousin's).

(I'm spaniard).

I find genealogy fascinating!  I am a typical American "mutt."

My father's grandparents moved to the US around 1915 -- they were from Lithuania and Russia.  His other grandparents have their roots in England, from what we know.  My mother's side of the family is a mix of Irish, German, and probably some English.  The Irish part of my family came over in the mid to late 1800s, but some of my maternal grandmother's family has been in the US since at least the Revolutionary War, which is a long time for an American :-)
