I am reading Гадкий Утёнок in Russian and trying to understand this sentence:
The second half is confusing to me. The sun was shining on the field and meadows, but . . .
Is the sentence saying the grass is as thick as a dense forest? Help!
Да, чаШа и чаЩа - разные слова: чаша = a bowl, чаща = a thicket or a dense forest.
Upd. This is not my photographs, it is from Google. |
Алексей, where the first photograph was taken? We don't have such large burdocks here in Moscow:/
It is in line with the story: "large dock-leaves so tall that small children could stand upright under the largest":)
Alexey, I'm afraid it is not the duckling is small, it is skræppeblade (I'm not sure if it is dock leaves or burdock leaves?) are so huge in Denmark))))
