What do you think of sustainable development? Today I saw the "Sustainable Development Goals" and I thought that sustainable development is hard to achieve nowadays because our science and technology is not developed enough.

I think we do have the technology, but the problem is that government and the taxpayer must shell out a lot of money to support sustainable programs. A lot of these programs may or may not work, or may only work temporarily. It may also be a problem to get public support if the science behind why such a program must be supported isn't communicated properly. So really it's just a fear of taking risks.

Have you ever thought about how to develop better life quality in terms of sustainability? Many people believe nothing is more important than earning money to purchase happiness, but some other people do consider sustainable development is the only way to proper our posterity. I think the major issue to be concerned is the meaning of life.

It goes without saying that human beings are apt to be framed by parents, cultures, education background, and the whole social atmosphere,  that is to say no one is really able to see the future clearly without personal perspective. Sustainable development is expected by many people yet only few people can say what it is exactly to be because the world is changing all the time.

However, to reach, to get close to sustainable technology is still expect by modern civilization because the desire for better life, education and work is by no means disappearing so far as we can see. Certainly, we have no idea when the current, cutting-edge technology will be replaced but the reality is we had better keep flexible and cautious when we are adopting a new technology.

Quite opposite to you assumption, I do consider sustainable development is absolutely needed for our future generation even at times in some circumstance, "sustainable" is hardly well defined.
