Who does translate favourite foreign songs by himself?

Hi friends!

I am just interested if somebody does the same as me :)

When I like some foreign song (in my case english or spanish) I always try to write down the song lyrics and translate it by myself. If I can't understand everything I just find lyrics in the Internet but after still translate it by myself.

And of course sing together with performer :)

Do you agree that listening to the music is a good way to improve your knowledge?

When I heard a new song that I like, I search the lyrics and sing haha. I think is one of the best ways to practice and learn a language :D

Recently, I have memorized lyrics of two songs in swedish, learned new words and

practiced  pronunciation....

I do not think songs are the best resource to learn a language because sometimes (thinking of Spanish songs) they have no sense at all as the main thing is the rhythm, so nobody would speak the way songs are sung.

However, I think that the fact that you are listening to the songs, trying to write them down or translating them, is a good idea (a useful activity).

I also used to write down song lyrics and then translate it. I don't know did  or how much it helped but I enjoyed it.
