How to motivate myself to do things?!

So take for example learning French. Unlike some people, languages are no longer my top priority.

However I feel like I still need to get good at them since they could really help in the future.

The problem is, I really don't know how I could motivate and force myself to keep on learning and improving myself.

Also, I'm afraid that by putting too much attention on this, I will start lacking at another area.

Well realizing how much learning a new language can truly be very helpful and beneficial for you, is there reason for why you are studying French? I motivated myself to become fluent in English because I realized that I could interact with people from other countries who come here to Germany and can't speak German, and if I visit other countries and don't know the language well most people know how to speak English nowadays so if I visit some place and can't speak much of the language English will be fine. So maybe you have same reason for learning French, maybe you want to visit France or for business reasons want to learn French, just recognizing how helpful learning a new language can be can motivate you to not only learn it but possibly become fluent in said language.

Joanna, have you tried finding a teacher who teaches you on a regular basis? That way there is another person who can keep you accountable to your language learning goals.
