Voice Message Notification Email Warning Could Be Ransomware

Beware of unintended friend request or unidentified Skype ID used by an italki instructor that has not been verified by italki.  The "italki team" does little in the way of spending resources to protect their consumers privacy, so it is up to you to be wary of hack attacks on your privacy. Having anti - virus software and a great firewall isn't enough to protect your privacy .  Once infected you could be held hostage for the personal information you have stored on your computer.

The bad guys are trying to find any vulnerability that can be used to infect your computer and that vulnerability on this web site is your eagerness to learn a new language.  I have no knowledge or data to support my next assertion, however, I think it is safe to say the italki web site has its share of scammers and bad guys. So. take notice of who you engage with on italki. The italki team will not protect you.

Recently, I have received numerous Skype voice notifications by emails. "Do not click on links in "voice mail" emails from someone you do not know, and certainly do not open any attachments!" - CyberheistNews

Good luck

Good point, this issue with ransomware is a serious problem these days - perhaps not only here on the web board but also in your ordinary e-mail inbox through various spam that might look legitimate but is not.
