Being patient, kind, formal and funny. I know, find a partner who you can practice with it's difficult

Hi Ellen,

I am sure you might already be doing some of the things I mention. Of course, the best way to improve your English is to speak with native or near native level speakers. You can also watch British and American sitcoms (I'd say Australian, but I don't get their humor). Read out loud and focus on pronunciation. Record what you are reading and play it back to compare it to native speakers. I am sure if you keep at it you will be able to find consistent language partners. I wish you the best in your English acquisition.

Hi Ellen,

I remember becoming your friend on italki a long time ago, but I'm afraid I was very busy (and very bad at time-keeping!) and so wasn't able to organise a language exchange with you. It's funny, but I've just noticed we're both now living in Beijing! Since you're not so far away (and we're now in the same city/time zone), would you like to have some language practice with me over WeChat/QQ or in person some time? Let me know. :) 加油!
