Halten oder Anhalten
I get confused about where or when to use Halten or Anhalten.
Anybody may explain the difference?

Halten an Anhalten literally means the same. But you can#t use "halten" in passive sentences.
I.e.
Ich halte - I am stopping.
Ich halte an - I am stopping.
Passive:
Ich werde angehalten - I am stopped by someone.
Ich werde gehalten - Someone is grabbing me.
