Natalie, don't look for a timeframe.  Everybody is different. Some take three months, some take years and there are many other factors at play. By setting a timeframe, you may become disappointed.

I have been learning French on and off for sometime. It's only within the last year that I've taken it seriously.  I'm able to hold a conversation, but I have moments when I'm not comfortable. It happens.

You have to have no fear of making of mistakes. You have to realise there isn't always a short easy solution.  If you accept that, then you'll succeed.  

Finally, I am wondering why have Dominic and Louis Martin been 'down voted' by others?
