I think language learning is extremely enjoyable if people go about it in a natural way :).
I dont worry about flashcards or stuffing my brain with grammar. I just read novels and books that I want to read, watch TV series that I love, and talk to people that I like talking to! Once you do things you enjoy, you can spend hours on something and it feels like minutes!
So I say to focus on reading and listening to things you enjoy in the language, and suddenly its the most exciting experience ever :)
In China, English is first popular foreign language because students from elementary to university have to be accepted its education for long term. But while from the third year in my college ,I had to select Japanese as compulsory language during that period. Here in Dalian a few Japanese company working opportunities could be tried especially to most young graduates ,which is not fresh news. It is not essential to learn Japanese normally ,as well as you can choose others as your favorite. Japanese is very similar to Chinese ,so we could learn the Kanji more faster.
To me, I prefer French mush so I was glad to learn it if I had free time. Maybe each day 1-2 hours has been taken up on basic grammar ,words and new expressions. But I have to say, website ,webapp and webapp tools related to web tool is only one way to me to touch French. Here is seemed too few to communicate directly with French speakers.
