What is the most efficient way to memorize Japanese vocabularies?

Hi all,

I am a beginner and I find the grammars pretty straightforward, but I am not sure what is the best way to memorize the vocabularies.

I have a pretty demanding day job and I am just learning Japanese for fun. The only consistent exposure I have to Japanese is variety shows and TV dramas (2~3 hours/week).

Any advice would be much appreciated!

こんにちは、日本語の単語はイメージが大事です。例えば、簡単なものは車は[emoji][emoji]、帽子は、[emoji][emoji]。イメージがわけば覚えやすいですよ。

Hello Japanese vocabulary is image that is important to learn. For example, Car is [emoji][emoji]. Straw hat is [emoji][emoji]. If you think so, You can memorize easily .

memrise.com can be useful for this purpose. I've memorized 1780 words so far.

I use flash-cards and vocab-journal. But the second you may only use at a certain level of language.

I highly recommed, that you search for a tandem-partner (you may skype or chat on another platform...), because actually TALKING is the best way to use and reuse and remember vocab!

Good luck!

Reciting text is one option especially you have not any dialogue partner nearby. But it is always making us feel boring for long term.

Anki app (iPhone and Android), you can either download a deck or make your own based on what you are reading/watching.
