How many beautiful stories have you written in italki about your adventures in Iran? Because each of those should be a reason to live... they're all wonderfully written. It's such a unique combination: a Chinese girl writing in gorgeous English about the poems of Hafiz and her jihad of love...wow! I can honestly say nobody on earth has the unique perspective that you do!

I've been aware of this user's writing for some time, since she was recommended to me by another user who also enjoyed her vivid, descriptive style. She's not just learnt English - she's mastered it, and has a style I couldn't match. When I read her notebooks it inspires me to study, hoping I might be as eloquent in Chinese one day as this Chinese native speaker is in English.

It's amazing (but unfortunately quite common) that such clearly exceptional people can appear so accomplished and admirable in other people's eyes, yet feel themselves to be worthless, stupid, unlikeable, etc. If only we saw ourselves as others see us, life might be bit easier...

The fact that you ask the question is one important reason.  That is called searching through connecting with other people.  It's the searching in life that makes us human.  Life is not always "happily ever after" but it's a gift.  Life has struggles and challenges that are all wonderful in their own way.  I notice that many people often say things like:  "if I met the pretty girl or the handsome man or if I had a bigger house or better car"  These things are okay but external and trying to find meaning through only external situations is fleeting and temporary.  We often take our past hurts and turn them into life long struggles with a cost of giving up happiness in the here-and-now.  Find that inner place that makes you ask the question and grow from it.  Then you can find a million reasons to live because each fragrance, each touch, each beautiful sunrise that you see is renewed.    Be gentle with yourself and never summarize your life because every day is a gift.
