i like reading but sometimes when i'm reading an English book i find myself struggling with alot of unknown vocabulary which make the reading process not fast and boring because i have to stop reading and find out what the word means.
what advice would you give me ?
Reading a novel etc can be a very slow process, but it is a really worthwhile activity. In my opinion, it is the best way to learn new words, and the results far outweigh any pain when reading.
The best tip I would give is, if you are not reading to actively learn new vocabulary (which does involve looking up lots of unfamiliar words), see if you can understand the sentence without knowing a certain word. Sometimes after reading the whole sentence the context makes the meaning of unknown words clear.
Yomna, maybe the book is too hard for you and you should put in on the backburner for a while ?
Choose a book that talks about things you are interested in. Consider that some genres are harder than others.
Honestly, I would start either with a book you have already read in your own language, so you are familiar with it, or you should use blogs to improve your reading skills.
Starting out with books can be discouraging.
Blogs are a great solution for building up your skills and exposing you to real English. Blog writers use real spoken English , the tone is conversational and there are so many blogs to choose from !
So, you can find one aboutsomething that is really relevant to you.
Hope this helps !
