I'd like to know how to immerse oneself into the language you're learning for full weekend or holidays without leaving home.
Any thoughts?
Pre recorded podcasts that you can "rewind" to phrases you need to hear again. Many have transcripts but that would not be total immersion.
YouTube videos in he target language
Movies in the target language
Skype sessions with language partners
Many MMORPG video games have teams that communicate with each other while playing although there would be a lot of slang and colloquialisms.
Do everything you do as much as possible in your target language. For example:
- write your shopping list
- read or watch the news
- listen to songs or podcasts while you do housework or commute to work
- write a diary
- follow cooking recipes
Here's a link to a website by a guy who learnt Japanese in 18 months by immersing himself in the language: http://www.alljapaneseallthetime.com/blog/about/overview-page/.
Thank y'all!
Some of your ideas are quite unique:D
Thanks!
