Let me try,

I had looked for him among crowds again and again,

just at the hopeless moment, I looked back at random,

the person was being just over where lamps flared

I find this on internet: "Having searched for him hundreds and thousands of times in the crowd, suddenly you turn back, and he is there by the dim light." But I think it is not a good translation. The poem has different meanings in different situations. There are some profound phylosophy in it.
