Do people still write blogs?

Blogs used to be very popular here in China. Everybody I know had a blog back then, either using some blog platforms or have their own domain. I had one too, and kept writing for 2-3 years. I read quite a lot of interesting stories and got to know a lot of interesting people.

For some reason, maybe people are getting busier, or maybe they have more important things than blog in their life, one by one, they left their blog. Nowadays, I don't have any friend who is still running a blog.

Is it the same in English speaking countries? If not, where do native English speakers write blogs now?

I think they do, but the real should be:

Do people still read blogs, or they prefer watching videos instead?

I only read articles from a blog if that subject has caught my eye, otherwise, I search for videos first.

What a coincidence! I just talked with a friend about this last night. She focus on the present and future so she doesn't want to write. Busy life can be a reasonable explain. I am not surprised. For some people, writing is not their interest. I think this situation also relates to how the technology changes our reading habit.

Blogs have been in decline. Perhaps your friends switch to other writing websites or keep their writings in private?

Interesting. Never thought about that.

I prefer reading blogs than watching videos.
