Hi everybody, I'm learning English and I'd like to improve my listening by listening to some English podcasts.
American English preferred, British ones are fine as well. And I'd like it to be not too long, about 20-30 minutes the best so I can listen to it before I go to sleep.
I''m hoping it would help my practical application of the language so some daily, casual or interesting topics would be great. Not necessary for English learners specifically.
(Or if there happen to be some awesome podcasts discussing serious topics like politics, books, technologies...etc. that you really like, please throw them to me please please please!)
Any recommendation? Thank you sooooooooooo much!
Yay - I love podcasts!I also agree with you about duration - I do listen to some longer podcasts, but I prefer 20-30 minute long ones too.
If you're interested in entrepreneurship, you might like:
Smart Passive Income https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/ or Entrepreneur on Fire (EOF) https://www.eofire.com/ - EOF is nice because you have interviews and also an audio blog so there's a mixture of dialogue and monologue.
As some of the others have mentioned NPR is great - you can find podcasts about every single topic on Earth!
For Amercian accents, you can also use This American Life: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/ Here you'll find Storycorps and the Serial podcast - great options!
I like your idea of listening before you go to bed - your brain will definitely process the new words and ideas during the night. It could be interesting to listen to the podcasts again in the morning to see if you understand them better!
I'm British, but you can also listen to my very short podcasts for learners. It's a mixture of listening tips and fast, spontaneous monologues that get you used to conversational English https://www.leo-listening.com/category/podcast/
