How to tell the difference between Irish accent and cockney accent?

For example, the accent that Sacha Baron Cohen take in The Brothers Grimsby, or Tom Hanks's accent in Cloud Atlas, or the accents in Trainspotting ( I could make sure this one is the Irish accents according to the plot ).

Thanks Peachey. Actually, Tom Hanks played several different roles in Cloud Atlas, and this is the role that  I said:

Trainspotting is set in Scotland. You're hearing Scottish accents.

Tom Hank's style of speaking in Cloud Atlas (I assume we're talking about the scenes with the Earth thousands of years in the future) is roughly based on country US dialects, but isn't recognisable. It's supposed to be a completely original dialect.

I had a listen to Sacha's accent, and it's apparently Northern English (and some critics say it's not very good).

Sorry, none of your examples are Irish or Cockney... but these accents are very different. It might be easier if we get some proper examples of the accents.
