My place is not as congested as big cities nor quiet as small towns but just a perfect size where people mind their own business, share their business and welcome everybody. A small town where you can get all you need and not too far from a major city or beautiful landscape with gorgeous flowers. We are even blessed to have a nice farm nearby and a wonderful Golf course :-)
A bit of acre here, a bit of forest there. I like the small scale of our landscape. And the fact that it's very accessible. There's hardly any fenced off private land. With the weather right now, it's the right time to sit in the treeshade in a beergarden and have something light and digestable with a glass of mild bready wheat beer. But after a bike ride to earn oneself it. That, to me, is spring in southern Germany.
I like the lively sounds of our city. It's not loud like in downtown, but it's also not so quiet like in the empty field. I hear children screaming and playing. I hear cars. In summer, I hear birds. I have sunlight coming in through the window every morning of our apartment. I can feel sunlight and its warmth. There are a lot of trees. Although it's a city, because I live so high, it looks like a forest when I'm looking down and straight to the horizon.
